Bills – Patriots inactives
By: Nick Wojton
If you were hoping for a some wide receiver Brandon Reilly under your Christmas tree this year, you better start looking at boxing day sales next week.
The Buffalo Bills (8-6) and New England Patriots (11-3) have released inactives ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The undrafted rookie free agent is listed as inactive for the third-straight game after being called up from the practice squad.
Reilly’s scratch is partially due to the Bills confirming reports that wide out Kelvin Benjamin (knee) will play. He’s active.
With Benjamin playing, the Bills will only dress four wide receivers. The others are Zay Jones, Deonte Thompson, and Brandon Tate. Third-string QB Joe Webb will likely be an emergency wide out.
Another additional miss will be cornerback EJ Gaines (knee). Shareece Wright is expected to start in his place. On Thursday during one-on-one drills which featured WR’s facing DB’s, Benjamin took part in the drill. Gaines sat out.
Defensive tackle Kyle Williams (groin), who missed two days of practice last week, will play.
Like the Bills, the Patriots have confirmed late night reports as well as wide receiver Chris Hogan (shoulder) and running back James White (ankle) are both inactive as well.
Former Buffalo running back Mike Gillislee is active for the first time in seven games for New England.
Here’s the full inactive list for each team:
