WATCH: Zay talks his viral move, Bills teammates try to pull off the “Zay Jones challenge”
ORCHARD PARK – For wide receiver Zay Jones, he was just moving onto the next down.
To the rest of the world, the Buffalo Bill pulled off a magic trick.
During Buffalo’s 16-10 win against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, Jones appeared to leap off the ground backward effortlessly after he dove forward for a Tyrod Taylor pass which fell incomplete. The move caught a lot of people’s attention.
And Jones said he didn’t have a clue he was going viral until some friends told him they saw the videos and added he reminded them of someone else.
“I’ve been doing it for awhile, that’s the funny thing. It just caught on camera,” Jones said. “Everyone was texting me saying I was getting compared to Michael Jackson.”
On Wednesday in Orchard Park, some of his teammates gave it their best try, calling it the “Zay Jones Challenge.”
Those who tried the move included safety Micah Hyde, defensive tackle Adolphus Washington, kicker Stephen Hauscka, running back LeSean McCoy, and cornerback Tre’Davious White.
